Inspired by the blog Mighty Girl, here is (the start of) Alex's and my bucket list...

• Publish a peer-reviewed paper in a major scientific journal
• Touch the snows of Kilimanjaro
• See the wild west coast by hiking the entire Pacific Crest Trail
• See the wild east coast by hiking the entire Appalachian Trail
• Publish a full-blown, science-inspired fantasy novel
• Raise chickens of all different breeds
• Urban mush with our own huskies
• Build a home with an Ennis House-style living room, a library with secret passageways, and a wall-sized aquarium
• Have a yard with a real-life secret garden
• Own a honeymoon home-away-from-home in the Blue Ridge Mountains
• Rock out on the violin
• Take a really great photograph
• Speak fluently in another language
• Sing in key
• Watch the Northern Lights dance across the Alaskan sky
• Attend our children's college graduations
• Spend a week doing little more that watching fireflies on the porch
• Look at Earth from space
• Float through the sky on a hang glider
• Race a full marathon
• Follow the spine of the Sierras by running the John Muir Trail
• Cook a meal with food grown entirely at home
• Get shot out of a cover-up barrel while surfing
• Pick a continent and then bike across it
• Teach a class that inspires
• Create something entirely new
• Make some noise by learning to play the trumpet
• Paddle to the base of Angel Falls
