A Life of Adventure

Alex and I have had a pretty busy week. We had a wonderful visit with Anna and Mike, filled with nice meals, the game Pandemic, sea horses and jelly fish at the Monterey Bay Aquarium (where we were joined by Kristin, Wolfe, and Malina), a jaunt into the woods to meet second cousins of Anna's, and a trip to China Town.

Then, Alex left for a conference in San Diego where he was giving an important presentation on his work, while I prepared for a presentation of my own on my recent month's work.

Alex and I met up again on Wednesday at a camp site at Whitney Portal for our Thursday hike of Mt. Whitney (next post).

Friday, we spent the day touring Yosemite with Laura and Barrett. We hiked up to where we could see Vernal Falls, got to experience a rock fall (which sounds like a very loud lingering thunder clap), spotted climbers on the side of El Capitan, saw a mama bear and her two cubs, and took in the whole valley from Glacier Point.

We've spent the rest of the weekend recovering with naps, runs, and chores.
