Table Thirteen: The Relay

Hanging inside this scrap box was one of the medals that Alex and I collected for completing this relay.

The Relay is a 199-mile relay race that runs from Calistoga to Santa Cruz through San Francisco and across the Golden Gate Bridge. Amy and Alex each covered roughly 16 miles and made up a fraction of Team Juice - Meatspace, which consisted not only of the twelve runners, but also of the volunteers, the cheerleaders, and the people that donated.

Despite the rain, the lack of sleep, and the sore muscles, the race was a success. Team Juice bested 24 hours and placed in the top three.

Go Juice!

  1. The way I remember it, Team Juice took first place among teams that did not cheat. So much for "do no evil."
