Table Fourteen: Yosemite

This scrap box contained several rocks (including a few heart-shaped ones) that we've picked up over the years.

While living over 300 miles apart, Alex called Amy up one random Monday and asked if she wanted to hike Half Dome in Yosemite that Thursday. Amy’s response was something close to, wait, what, seriously?

Two days later they found themselves in a hotel outside of Yosemite National Park with a group of friends from the Pasadena area. Thursday morning they woke up early and journeyed into the park.

The day was filled with a gorgeous hike, amazing views, and breathtaking waterfalls as they made their way up to Half Dome. Once there and a third of the way up the sheer face of the rock, Amy and Alex decided they had already reached their goal and did not need to actually climb to the top of Half Dome. Together they climbed back down the smooth granite. The experience bonded them as a team and showed them that they would stick together, whether it was climbing up the face of a mountain or relaxing and enjoying the views at the bottom.
