Table Six: Ricketts Hovse

This scrap box contained my Ricketts Hovse lighter, a guitar pick to represent the open mic night, and a button placed on Alex's shirt that said, "It's my first time!"

Amy was a Resident Associate at Caltech from the summer of 2006 until the summer of 2008. She lived in Ricketts House, one of the eight undergraduate dormitories in the small technical institute, with nearly 70 amazing students. Though she loved her students, she worried about how they would react when introduced to Alex.

Amy invited Alex to Ricketts House’s open mic night at the end of the first week of school in 2007. He came, sat next to her during the whole event, and happily chatted with everyone she introduced to him.

He fit right in to the house. In fact, Amy quickly learned that he did as many crazy things his first year of college as they did, but you’ll have to ask him for those stories!
