Table Eight: Team Zissou

One of the perks of being a Resident Associate at the California Institute of Technology was that Amy got to go on fun adventures with the other RAs. The big trip during the 2007-2008 school year was to the Queen Mary, the Scorpion submarine, and the Aquarium of the Pacific - all in Long Beach, California. Everyone on the trip got “Official Intern - Team Zissou” shirts to wear for the day as we toured and water taxied around.

During the ride back to Pasadena, the bus broke down, and the group spent a good deal of extra time on the side of the road. Instead of frustration, Alex was experiencing a little bit of heaven as Amy unconsciously scratched his head for the duration of the stop. Years of being a cat person helped her to melt his heart during those blissful moments.
