Just so that something's down in print, I wanted to outline the rough wedding weekend schedule.
The two main events are the wedding on Friday and the post-wedding celebration on Saturday.
The ceremony begins at 6 pm on Friday and goes into the night.
On Saturday we're planning a backyard post-wedding pool party at my parents' house. Right now we're thinking people can start coming over around 1 pm and stay into the night, but nothing's definite yet. We're also thinking bathing suits, lawn games, bar-be-que, pinatas, jug bands, fire-side story telling, and solid quality time with our friends who graciously traveled from afar to be with us on what will be an incredibly special weekend for us. We want it to be casual and laid back, and we hope it will feel like the kind of gathering that Alex and I will have in our own backyard in the future. Plans are still in flux, so stay tuned.
Coming in on Thursday or staying until Sunday? Let us know, and we'll plan a few extra things so that we can squeeze a little extra time with you then, too...
UPDATE: Alex's mom and step dad, Susanne Chess and Bob Evans, will be hosting a welcome party at the Linden Row Inn on Thursday night. If you're already in the area or are thinking about traveling to Richmond on Thursday, add this event to your weekend schedule. This casual gathering will include drinks and hors d'oeuvres.
UPDATE: We will ideally be gathering for a group run on Sunday morning at the Linden Row Inn. More details to come.
